Hats off to a sweet group of ladies!

Hats off to a sweet group of ladies!

Actually, hats “on” is more like it. Yesterday I “got to” share lunch with a sweet ladies Sunday School department.  They describe their ages as “70 to heaven” and told me when they are studying their Sunday School lessons they are “cramming for the final exam.”   They are PRECIOUS. It was a room full of stories and wisdom.  Lots of wisdom. When I walked in they handed me a hat.  There were boxes and boxes of hats to choose…

Looper and Me …

Looper and Me …

Perhaps I should call this post “Looper and Us”. I  mentioned last summer how I watched “Marley and Me” while flying over the Atlantic ocean in the middle of the night.  Bill was sound asleep and I woke him up crying at 40,000 feet or something to tell him that the movie was practically written about us and our golden retriever who had lived through so much of our lives together.   I learned that one should never wake anyone up…

Anyway … a special “Happy Mother’s Day” wish to my own mom too.  I consider it a blessing to be her child.  She has taught me about faith and fun …. and even flexibility. I once “forgot” to mention to her that my…

“Monument”al Trip …

“Monument”al Trip …

Caroline leaves at 5:15 in the morning for the airport.  She is going on her middle school’s 8th grade trip to Washington, DC.  I am equal parts excited and nervous about her getting on an airplane and flying to our nation’s capital.  Bill is taking  her since I’m not a fan of early mornings and “on time arrivals” at the airport  are not my strong suit. Tonight I gave her a cool wrap around bracelet and told her that although…

In a million years …

In a million years …

I never thought I’d have a picture like this: Or this … Now I could imagine them kicking each other like this: And this: Because that’s what kids do, right? But I didn’t imagine my kids would be doing real kicks while wearing taekwondo uniforms. Never. A few months ago I mentioned that Jacob started taekwondo.   He LOVED it. And he begged Savannah to join. I said “no”.   Then Savannah begged.  Offered to give up dance (no big sacrifice for…
