Ideas ... anyone ... anyone?

Thank you for your comments and emails about the “versing” of our new house.   I’ve enjoyed reading similar things you and your family have done.  Lots of good ideas!

And speaking of good ideas …. I need one.

When we told the kids to select a verse for their room, Jacob’s first comment was … “I don’t want my verse painted over … I want it to always be on my walls.  Why would you cover it up?”

And I said something wise and impressive like … “uhm, I don’t know.”

Then I said … “you can totally have it in your room and on your walls”.  And then I said … “but not in Sharpie”, because well … because I said so.

So now I’m trying to decide what to do …

The ideas I have so far are:

Order his verse from one of the vinyl decal places like this:

Another idea is to use chalkboard paint and paint the backing of a picture frame.  Then he can write the verse in his handwriting and we can hang it up over his door frame.

Like this … CLICK HERE.

I know there are some wildly creative people out there so let me hear from you …. what’s your idea?!?

Hey! I’ve ordered similar projects from Uppercase Living (www.uppercaseliving.com). It’s completely customizable and I’ve had great experience with them. Anyhow, it looks like you may have found a place similar to Uppercase Living, but thought I’d throw it out there!

I’ve seen people with artistic talent (maybe a sister I know) who paint the words like a border around the top of the wall. My mom’s friend in Conway has different quotes in every room. But I like both the ideas you presented - kind of lean towards the chalkboard idea for a boy.
