Oh what a night ...

I actually went to bed before 11:00 last night.    I don’t think that has happened since maybe the mid 80’s…I kid you not.  I was so excited to get a good nights sleep because I have a BIG weekend ahead.  But sleep didn’t come which may or may not have had something to do with the fact that I gave up Diet Coke but replaced it with tea which rumor has it that it actually has more caffeine than Diet Coke.  Did you like that run on sentence?

Anywho … a storm the likes of which I haven’t heard in a long time blew through and I ended up with two kids in my bed and two kids calling out … one because she thought she heard someone playing drums.  I assured her no one was playing drums but that it was thundering.  And went back to bed.

I’ve had maybe 30 minutes of sleep.

And I’m on my way out of town to speak at the Shearer Hills Baptist Church Womens Retreat this weekend.  The church is in San Antonio, but they are meeting in San Marcos.  I’ve been looking SO forward to this and can’t wait to get down there.

I am thinking I might have to take up Diet Coke again so as not to fall asleep driving there or while speaking.  There is a session tonight and 3 sessions tomorrow.  If you read this before tomorrow, please say a prayer for me as I lead and for the ladies who are coming.  My prayer is that God will speak through me the words that He wants them to hear.

And lastly … I have a winner for the new Don Miller book I mentioned Wednesday.

Chelsea!!  Email me you address and I’ll send your book.  That is once I have caught up on my sleep.  Because I will need all my strength to stand in that line at the post office for upwards of an hour like I do every single time I go.

I really think I’m gonna need a Diet Coke.

I’m sure you will do (or have done depending on when you get this) wonderfully!

Yes, tea can have more caffeine than soda. I still fall straight to sleep.

And I didn’t know there was an 11 in the PM - never see it.

Lastly, look up your family in San Marcos if you have a minute. Sure Uncle Dale would love to see you. Guy is on a road trip.
